Steven M. Berman Participated in JAG Corps Bankruptcy Training

SAN DIEGO, CA – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Steven M. Berman, partner in the Tampa office, participated in a bankruptcy training session with JAG Corps officers at Naval Base San Diego on October 22, 2012.  As part of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ), Steve, Judge Joan Feeney, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts and President of the NCBJ, and Judge Marilyn Shea-Stonum, presented a bankruptcy basics seminar as part of the NCBJ outreach program to the military community.  The presentation was simulcast to JAG officers throughout the world.

Steve has over 22 years of experience and has focused his practice as a business bankruptcy litigator representing creditors, trustees, committees and business entities litigating disputes in bankruptcy court.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Certification in both Creditors' Rights Law and Business Bankruptcy Law, is a member of both the Florida and California Bars and is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, all California state courts, all federal courts in the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the federal courts in the Southern and Central Districts of California and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for the California Bankruptcy Forum.

Steve received his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.S. in Multinational Business Operations from Florida State University.
