TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Tampa partners Michele Leo Hintson and Thomas E. Toner spoke at the Pasco Economic Development Council’s BizGrow 2.0 Conference at the Pasco-Hernando State College on May 12, 2016. Michele discussed “Reading the Fine Print: Contractual Terms That Effect Your Business” and Tom talked about “Changes in Patent Law That Can Leave You Vulnerable.” BizGrow 2.0 presents real-life stories about starting and growing your business from executives and entrepreneurs.
Michele dedicates her practice to representing businesses, insurance companies, health care organizations and individuals in all aspects of the dispute resolution process, including, performing pre-suit investigations and risk management analysis, attending mediation sessions, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, conducting depositions, and advocating for clients at hearings, trials, and arbitrations. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator. Michele received her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Central Florida.
Tom is a Registered United States Patent Attorney who focuses his practice on patent prosecution, copyright, trademark, trade secret and related technology litigation. His experience in patent prosecution includes medical devices, technology components, photolithography, electronics, MEMS, communications systems, computer hardware and software, internet business methods, municipal and localized wastewater treatment and construction with a focus in therapies and pharmaceuticals for the treatment of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Tom received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and his B.S., Biology, from the University of Central Florida.
