SARASOTA, Fla. — Hunter G. Norton, partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, has earned his Florida Bar Board Certification in Business Litigation, making him one of only 255 attorneys in the Florida Bar to hold this certification.  Hunter's practice focuses on all types of business litigation as well as counseling clients through the litigation process.  Hunter has been practicing law in Florida since 2006 after graduating cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.  Prior to his law career, Hunter was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, researching, drafting, preparing, and delivering intelligence briefings to high-level officials, in addition to serving as an intelligence analyst and linguist.

Board Certification is a voluntary program for lawyers, approved by The Florida Supreme Court and administered by The Florida Bar.  Board Certification is The Florida Bar's "Legal Expert" status and all Board Certified attorneys must have a minimum of five years in law practice, show substantial involvement in the field of law for which certification is sought, receive a passing grade on the examination for their specialty, satisfy a peer review assessment of their competence, and satisfy the certification area's continuing legal education requirements, and meet other stringent criteria set by The Florida Bar.
