TAMPA, FL – Shumaker Advisors Florida, LLC is pleased to announce that Carlye Morgan, Director of Governmental Relations, has been named one of Tampa Bay Business Journals 2017 Up & Comers.  Carlye was selected in the Under 40 Class.  The 2017 Up & Comers Awards Dinner, which celebrates the accomplishments of rising professionals throughout the Bay area, will take place October 12, 2017 at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre in Tampa.

Carlye launched her career in public policy, working as Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Kathy Castor in Washington and Outreach Director in Tampa.  Her policy portfolio included education, small business, and the arts.  During this time, Carlye also worked on a presidential campaign during the 2008 election cycle.  Subsequently, she consulted for a public policy think tank and provided public engagement for a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation non-profit.  Additionally, Carlye served as the Senior Director for Government Relations for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, providing local, state, and federal advocacy to the business community on a wide variety of legislative topics, including health care, transportation, US-Cuba relations, defense, and tax policy.  

Carlye holds a masters degree in public administration from the American University and a bachelors in English from Southern Methodist University (SMU).
