TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa partner, Mindi M. Richter, has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board of The First Tee of Tampa Bay for a two-year term.

The First Tee’s mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.  Whether through introductory programs in 75+ Hillsborough County public schools, afterschool programs at local courses, or summer camp experiences, The First Tee shows children that golf is more than a game – it’s an opportunity to become the very best they can be.

Mindi is certified as an Intellectual Property Law Specialist by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.  Mindi litigates intellectual property cases of all types, both in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as in state and federal courts across the country.  She has vast experience in transactional intellectual property matters and also counsels clients and litigates issues such as defamation, rights of privacy and publicity, reporters' rights, subpoena defense and the First Amendment.  Mindi received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University.
