TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa lawyer Jessica West was a presenter on a live webinar on Tuesday, July 7th for the Hillsborough County Medical Association (HCMA). Jessica’s presentation focused on telehealth and telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, she discussed changes to telehealth before, during and after COVID-19. She also addressed changes in HIPAA the resulting implications as well as state and federal considerations. The HCMA is comprised of over 1,800 physicians and medical students and serves as the local voice for organized medicine and as a political and professional advocate for all members, regardless of specialty or practice affiliation.

Jessica's principal area of practice is health law, advising health care providers on regulatory and compliance matters, fraud and abuse, HIPAA, licensure, and certification. She also advises clients on emerging areas of health law, including Florida’s evolving cannabis law. Additionally, Jessica has experience in other practice areas, including commercial litigation and professional malpractice defense.
