Shumaker Lawyer Named Lead Broadcast Commentator for World’s Largest Rowing Regatta

Sarasota, FL – Shumaker Partner David L. Wyant, Jr. was named a lead broadcast commentator for Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) to be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 22-24, 2021.  

Established in 1965, HOCR is a fall tradition, with the banks and bridges over the Charles River lined with thousands of spectators all weekend. As the world’s largest rowing regatta, the event regularly fields more than 11,000 athletes from around the globe.

“The broadcast is an exciting opportunity for folks to enjoy the HOCR. We’re excited to have David on board as we expand our live stream coverage for 2021,” said Executive Director Fred Schoch.

Since 2012, David has been the rowing voice of Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, announcing several events: 2017 World Rowing Championships; 2019 World Rowing Under-23 Championships; 2016 and 2020 United States Rowing Olympic Trials; 2018 and 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships; 2021 USRowing Indoor National Championships/C.R.A.S.H.-B. World Indoor Rowing Championships; USRowing Youth National Championships; and Florida Scholastic Rowing Association Championships.
