"The Big Squeeze: Small Business Financing during the Great Recession"

Gregory C. Yadley, partner in the Tampa office, participated at the 6th annual small business symposium at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in Columbus, Ohio, on March 10, 2011. The symposium titled “The Big Squeeze: Small Business Financing during the Great Recession,” provided a platform for gathering information and perspectives to address the immediate and longer-term credit needs of small businesses. The symposium brought together a national group of key decision makers to speak, including leaders from academic institutions, government regulators, and community leaders.

Mr. Yadley, along with Federal Reserve Vice President and research economist Dr. James Thomson, Small Business Administration Senior Policy Advisor David Chait, and OSU Professor Dale Oesterle, addressed the Government’s response to small business finance during the recession. Mr. Yadley commented specifically on regulatory policies that have restricted access to bank credit for small businesses.

Mr. Yadley is a member of the Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He is the past Chairman of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section (and former Chair of the Corporations and Securities Committee), and has been a member of that Section’s Executive Counsel since 1984. In addition, Mr. Yadley is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Law School. Chair of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick’s Corporate Practice Group in Tampa, Mr. Yadley also serves as a board member (former President) of the University Club of Tampa, and as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of The Florida Orchestra. He has served as Chairman of Tampa Bay & Company, the Hillsborough County Arts Council, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Tampa Alumni, City of Tampa Public Art Committee, Tampa Bay Business Committee for the Arts, Inc., and the Dartmouth Club of Tampa Bay.
