"ABC's of Florida Construction Lien Law: What You Need to Know to Make the Lien Law Work for You"

Tony J. Abate, partner in the Sarasota office, Brian R. Lambert, partner in the Tampa office, and Christopher Z. Staine, associate in the Sarasota office, presented "ABC's of Florida Construction Lien Law: What You Need to Know to Make the Lien Law Work for You" at the Gulf Coast Builders XChange (GCBX) on August 4, 2011 at the State College of Florida/Lakewood Ranch. The Gulf Coast Builders Xchange represents a broad cross section of the building industry, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and others from affiliated industries.

Mr. Abate's practice involves commercial disputes of any nature in the form of business litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation, with an emphasis on construction, probate and trust, and eminent domain litigation.

Mr. Abate is Board Certified in Construction Law, one of only 223 lawyers statewide to receive this distinction and is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Abate received his J.D. from Southern Illinois University and his B.S., with honors, from Northern Illinois University.

Mr. Lambert is Board Certified in Construction Law and devotes a substantial amount of his practice to all facets of construction. He has handled a wide variety of complex construction disputes involving project delays, schedule acceleration, construction defects and differing site conditions, as well as payment disputes concerning lien and bond claims. Mr. Lambert received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, and his B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida.

Mr. Staine is Board Certified in Construction Law. He focuses his practice on all aspects of construction law, including the review and preparation of construction contracts, advising clients on updates to the Florida Construction Lien Law, and construction litigation. Mr. Staine represents general and marine contractors, as well as commercial and residential real estate developers. Mr. Staine received his J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University and his B.A. from Texas Christian University.
