Gregory C. Yadley Speaker at Professional Day Seminar

TAMPA, FL – Gregory C. Yadley, partner in the Tampa office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, was a speaker at the Second Annual Professional Day presented by the Society of Financial Service Professionals on May 11, 2010 at the Tampa Bay History Museum.  Mr. Yadley discussed “Unrelated Party Sales of a Closely-Held Business” with a focus on the non-tax considerations and pre-planning necessary to ensure a smooth sale, particularly for family-owned businesses.  He addressed the complexities of dealing with multi-generational ownership and family dynamics which present obstacles to, and opportunities for, a successful transition.  The Society is a multidisciplinary network of credentialed financial professionals which, for over 75 years, has been helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve financial security.

Mr. Yadley has extensive experience representing business entities of all sizes, including closely-held and family businesses and large and small public companies.  He regularly represents these clients in financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations and disputes, strategic planning, legal compliance and general corporate matters.  He also has extensive experience in securities matters, including advising clients with regard to their private and public offerings of securities (including initial public offerings) and their ongoing disclosure obligations.

Mr. Yadley received his J.D., with honors from George Washington University and his B.A., cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
