Timothy C. Garding Named to the Spring of Tampa Bay’s Development Council

TAMPA, FL – Timothy C. Garding, associate in the Tampa office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, has been named to the Spring of Tampa Bay’s Development Council.  The Spring is the largest of Florida's 42 certified domestic violence shelters and the first in the United States to have an accredited school on site for resident children.  In addition to its role as a domestic abuse shelter, the Spring provides leadership in legal and legislative initiatives aimed at protecting victims of domestic violence.  It is Hillsborough County’s only certified domestic violence prevention and emergency shelter agency.

Mr. Garding practices in the areas of commercial litigation, health law, and labor and employment.  While in law school, Mr. Garding served as Articles and Notes Editor for The Florida State University College of Law’s Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law.  He also served as a Teaching Fellow for the legal research and writing department at Stetson University College of Law and worked as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Administrative Law Judge Larry Sartin at the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings in Tallahassee, Florida.  Mr. Garding has co-authored several articles in the areas of surety law and labor and employment law.

Mr. Garding received his J.D., cum laude, from the Florida State University College of Law in 2008, and his B.A. in Sociology and Criminology from the University of Minnesota – Duluth in 2000.
