SARASOTA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Douglas A. Cherry, partner in the Sarasota office, was a featured speaker, and co-presenter with Judge Robert B. Bennett, Jr., at the Legal Aid of Manasota CLE Program entitled “What to do When you are Facing an Ethically Challenged Attorney” on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Judge Lynn Silvertooth Judicial Center in Sarasota, Florida.  The topics discussed covered an ethics overview, ethics and technology, identifying the most prevalent offenses, and strategies for dealing with the offending lawyer.

Mr. Cherry is Board Certified in Intellectual Property Law.  Mr. Cherry’s practice focuses on intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition) consulting, acquisition, licensing and litigation.  He also focuses on computer and technology law, business law and entertainment law, including consulting clients and attorneys in electronic discovery issues, domain name disputes, E-commerce agreements, technology implementation transactions and software performance disputes, consulting and employment agreements, and technology licensing.
