TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that A. Edward McGinty, Of Counsel in the Tampa office, spoke to the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) on June 20, 2012 at the St. Pete Yacht Club about asset protection planning.  The speaking engagement grew out of discussions between leaders of the NAIFA chapter and the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals about cooperating on local events.

NAIFA members assist consumers by focusing their practices on one or more of the following: life insurance and annuities, health insurance and employee benefits, multiline, and financial advising and investments. NAIFA’s mission is to advocate for a positive legislative and regulatory environment, enhance business and professional skills, and promote the ethical conduct of its members. 

Mr. McGinty has extensive experience in corporate, LLC and partnership, real estate, complex business and medical practice transactions, contracts, tax and estate planning and asset protection, including mergers and acquisitions, business and medical practice transfers, ownership structures, succession planning and transfer restriction agreements, corporate and real estate finance and development, construction and project insurance, professional and executive compensation planning, employment agreements and termination.  Mr. McGinty received his J.D., with honors, from Florida State University, and his B.A. from Louisiana State University.
