Mark Alan Connolly Coordinated and Moderated Florida Coalition for Children Seminar

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Mark A. Connolly, Partner in the Tampa Office, coordinated and moderated a Florida Coalition for Children (FCC) seminar held December 10, 2012 at Eckerd Youth Alternatives Tampa facilities. The half-day seminar covered Legal Trends & Risk Management Issues in Child Welfare.  Mark serves as outside general counsel for the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, and he has worked extensively with the FCC on tort reform legislation, risk management and liability issues. 

Mark serves as the City Attorney for the City of Temple Terrace, Florida, and as general counsel to child welfare agencies in the Tampa Bay area and Southwest Florida. He has extensive experience representing individuals, businesses and governmental entities in commercial, tort and land use litigation.  He also has extensive experience in representing governmental clients, including handling public meetings, negotiating contracts and interlocal agreements, and providing general legal advice and counseling on matters such as the Sunshine Law, Public Records Law, and ethics for public officials.  Mark also has successfully represented health care providers in various litigation matters, and he has substantial experience in the enforcement of restrictive covenants. 

Mark is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and was named to Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite in 2011.  He received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, and his B.S. from the University of Florida, with honors.
