Duane A. Daiker Elected Secretary/Treasurer of Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar

TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Duane A. Daiker, partner in the Tampa office, has been elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar for a one-year term.  Duane previously served as a member of the Executive Counsel of the section.

The Appellate Practice Section is a 1,700-person organization devoted to promoting excellence in Florida’s state and federal appellate courts.  The section focuses on enhancing the role and skills of members of The Florida Bar who are engaged in appellate practice by providing continuing legal education, disseminating materials on matters of interest and concern to the appellate community, and through the exchange of ideas among the members of the section.

Duane represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of appellate matters in state and federal court, and leads the firm’s appellate practice group.  Duane also represents surety companies in connection with payment, performance, and fiduciary bond disputes throughout the State of Florida.   In addition to his full-time law practice, Duane serves as an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College, teaching classes in law, legal research, and writing.  He received his J.D., with high honors, from the University of Florida, and his B.A., with high honors, from the University of Florida.
