SARASOTA, Fla. — Benjamin R. Hanan, managing partner of the Sarasota office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, a full-service business law firm, has been named co-chair of the firm’s eight-member management committee.

Hanan, who heads up the firm’s Sarasota office, is a corporate lawyer and CPA. He is the 2015 board chair of Gulf Coast Community Foundation, past chair of the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and a current director. He also serves on the boards of other non-profit organizations in the Sarasota County region.

Hanan will work with Toledo, Ohio managing partner Thomas P. Dillon, each co-chairs of the firm’s management committee. Hanan will continue to work in his regular practice areas.

Named a Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2014, Hanan’s principal areas of practice include business and estate planning.
