Attorneys Pitch In to Clean Up Sarasota Bayfront

  • 03.24.2015

SARASOTA, Fla. — Nine attorneys and one staff member with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP rolled up their sleeves and got to work cleaning up the Sarasota bayfront and marina from 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday, March 21, as part of the 2015 Great American Cleanup.

On Saturday, volunteers in Sarasota County fanned out to more than 30 outdoor locations to remove litter and debris; plant trees, flowers and gardens; clean and restore natural trails; and much more. Shumaker's volunteers concentrated their efforts in Sarasota’s Bay Front Park and the nearby marina, collecting litter and removing debris to improve our public spaces and water quality.

The attorneys who participated are all part of Leadership Shumaker, a charitable program within the firm that raises money and organizes volunteer shifts for worthy causes.

The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program. Organized annually by Keep America Beautiful, the Cleanup kicks off in more than 20,000 communities each spring, involves more than 2 million volunteers and generates more than $175 million in measurable benefits in participating communities.
