Christaldi Honored with Board of Trustees Award for his Service

TAMPA, Fla. — Ronald Christaldi, the board chair of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and an attorney with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, a full-service business law firm, recently received the prestigious 2015 Board of Trustees Award in recognition of his longstanding service to the AMIkids-Yes program, a residential program located in Wimauma, Fla. that serves boys aged 14 - 18 who have committed criminal offenses.

The award was presented at the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce board meeting on March 26, as a complete surprise to Christaldi. During the end of the meeting, Joe Chestnut, the AMIkids-YES director; John DeMuro, AMIkids-YES board chair and the Federal Government Affairs Director for Moffitt Cancer Center; and Larry Alterme, a 16-year-old AMIkids-YES student from Miami, presented the plaque to Christaldi.

“Ron served our organization for nearly two decades, including several terms as chairman,” said DeMuro. He was – and continues to be – a tireless promoter of our mission to turn the lives of troubled kids in a positive direction. His service to AMIkids-YES has made a tremendous positive impact on the lives of hundreds of young men.”

AMIkids-YES is a fully accredited alternative high school that also provides specialized behavior modification and mental health services from highly trained and certified professionals, as well as a strong character education component that emphasizes personal growth and accountability.
