TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Attorney Rebecca E. Shope was a recipient of the 2015 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Award. Rebecca was selected at the 20th Anniversary of the awards ceremony from a field of 148 candidates.
The 20 Under 40 Leadership Program focuses on individuals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or service in the community. It is intended that the program will assist in motivating young leaders in our area. One must be nominated for the award and an independent panel of judges selects the 20 candidates for recognition.
Rebecca practices in the litigation practice group in the Toledo office of Shumaker. She was honored by the Ohio Bar Association for Excellence in Employment Law and was appointed to the Advisory Group for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio by Judge James Carr in 2014 for a three year term. She was selected for inclusion as an Ohio Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2015. Rebecca is active in a number of organizations and serves on numerous boards. She serves on the Board of the Toledo Club, the Junior League of Toledo, and Harbor House. She is also on the Advisory Council of EPIC and an Advisory Board member of PRIZM. Rebecca also serves on the Toledo Women’s Bar Association’s Women’s Advisory Committee.
Rebecca received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law, and her B.S., summa cum laude, from Heidelberg University.
