Ron Collier Honored as the Twelfth Judicial Circuit’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Quarter

SARASOTA, Fla. — Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick, LLP business litigation attorney Ronald L. Collier was recently honored as the Pro Bono Attorney of the Quarter by the Twelfth Judicial Circuit for his hours of service to Legal Aid of Manasota.

The nonprofit civil law firm provides free legal services to low-income individuals and families in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Collier, of counsel to Shumaker since his retirement last year, assists clients at Legal Aid of Manasota every week. He often advises clients on probate issues, landlord-tenant issues and debt collection cases.

He was nominated for the award by Legal Aid of Manasota and selected as the recipient for the first quarter of 2016 by former Circuit Judge Lee Haworth.

In recognition of his achievement, Collier’s photo will be framed and displayed in the lobby of the Judge Lynn N. Silvertooth Judicial Center in downtown Sarasota.

Collier centered his practice on general business litigation, focusing on regional and national institutional and private lenders. He has helped clients through contentious legal issues in the courtroom and through alternate methods of dispute resolution. Collier is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level attainable for quality and integrity.
