A dedicated client advocate, Alexis is a member of the Litigation and Disputes Service Line. Her litigation experience, coupled with her involvement in various collegiate organizations and history of community service, informs her diligent approach to best serving the needs of her clients.
Alexis has been driven by a passion for advocating for others from a young age. This passion, furthered by her participation in her high school’s debate team, made a career in law a natural fit. Prior to joining Shumaker, Alexis worked in insurance litigation, zealously representing clients in property damage and insurance coverage matters.
Alexis is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law, Community Service Chair of the Black Law Students Association, and a member of the Diversity and Community Service Committees of the Student Bar Association. During law school, Alexis also worked as an intern for the Office of the Public Defender Eighth Judicial Circuit.
In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, going to the beach, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and watching collegiate and NFL football—she is an avid Miami Dolphins fan.
