Sarah M. Sears

A dedicated advocate for her clients, Sarah is a member of the Litigation and Disputes Service Line, where she focuses on Insurance Recovery to ensure that clients are protected by the insurance programs they require and, when necessary, to compel insurers to honor their coverage obligations. Sarah assists policyholders in complex recovery efforts under property, commercial liability, and business interruption policies, among others, from the inception of the claim through the final settlement. She also practices in the area of general commercial litigation.

After earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University (OH), she went on to receive her Master’s Degree from Kent State University and her Juris Doctor from The University of Akron School of Law. She spent time as an educator before transitioning to the practice of law.

During her time in law school, Sarah served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Law Review, a Social Justice Fellow, and a Re-entry Clinic volunteer. She competed in the American Bar Association Trial Advocacy Moot Court competition in Boston, MA. She also gained valuable experience working as a Summer Associate for Community Legal Aid, where she served on the Health, Education, Advocacy, and Law Project (HEAL) team in Akron. In her free time, Sarah is typically kayaking, trying a new restaurant, or driving the mom taxi to her children’s various activities.
