Michelle A. Turman Takes On Multiple Roles at University of South Florida, Significantly Enhancing Academic Leadership

TAMPA, FL – University of South Florida (USF) has appointed Vice President of Shumaker Advisors Michelle A. Turman, CFRE to three strategic positions across various critical departments within the university.

Michelle’s latest appointments include being selected to the USF Foundation Board of Directors Finance and Fundraising Committee; appointed by Dr. Prasant Mohaptra, USF Provost, to the Search Advisory Committee for the new Dean of the USF College of Arts and Sciences; and reappointment to the USF College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board, where she will serve as Chair of the statewide Workforce Development Initiative.

Michelle will bring her more than 30 years of experience in executive searches, organizational management, and fundraising to all three roles.

Renowned for her expertise in fundraising, the USF Foundation Board of Directors Finance and Fundraising Committee will turn to Michelle for her assistance with its ambitious capital campaign aimed at constructing USF’s new state-of-the-art, on-campus stadium.  

As a member of the Search Advisory Committee, Michelle will provide instrumental guidance and expertise during the selection process. The 14-member committee will assist in defining the criteria for the ideal candidate, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and ultimately recommending finalists to higher authorities, ensuring a thorough and fair selection process that aligns with the institution's goals and values.

Additionally, Michelle’s reappointment to the USF College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board signifies her continued dedication to fostering educational excellence. Her involvement in the statewide Workforce Development Initiative further showcases her commitment to shaping the future of education and workforce readiness on a larger scale.
