TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Mark Wagoner has been named a partner of the firm effective January 1, 2010.
Mr. Wagoner is a resident of the firm’s Toledo, Ohio office and practices in the litigation practice group. His principal area of practice is business litigation, including franchise, commercial, and shareholder disputes. Mr. Wagoner also consults with small and medium-sized businesses on a wide variety of legal and business issues.
Mr. Wagoner is an accomplished litigator, with extensive experience in both federal and state courts, including jury trials and appeals. Mr. Wagoner has been recognized repeatedly by Ohio Super Lawyers® as a Rising Star in business litigation and is a recipient of the Toledo Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Area Law.”
Mr. Wagoner also serves as the State Senator for the Second District in The Ohio Senate starting in 2007. Prior to his tenure in The Ohio Senate, Mr. Wagoner served in The Ohio House of Representatives State Representative of the 46th House District from 2005 to 2007. While in the Ohio General Assembly, Mr. Wagoner passed numerous bills he introduced into law, including the merger between The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio, and been recognized by many state associations as their “Legislator of the Year.”
Mr. Wagoner is a recipient of several Pro Bono Service Awards from the Toledo Bar Association and is also a recipient of the 20 Under 40 Award which focuses on individuals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their careers and in the community.
Mr. Wagoner is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Wagoner received his J.D., with honors from The Ohio State University College of Law where he was a senior editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and President of the Student Bar Association, and his B.A., cum laude, from Georgetown University. The Ohio State College of Law recognized Mr. Wagoner as its Outstanding Recent Alumni in 2007.
