SARASOTA, FL – Jennifer B. Compton, Partner in the Sarasota office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, will be a panelist for the Business Ethics Alliance as it presents “Practicing Business Ethics Improves Performance” on April 12, 2010. As a member of the panel, Ms. Compton will discuss the importance of ethics in the workplace and its impact on effective leadership and productivity.

Ms. Compton primarily represents employers and provides assistance in preventative counseling and the defense of litigation brought by current and former employees. Ms. Compton regularly practices in Federal and State courts as well as in arbitration.  Areas of defense recently handled by Ms. Compton include claims under the ADA, FMLA, FSLA, ADEA, Florida Whistleblower Act, and Florida Trade Secret Act.  Ms. Compton is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law.

Ms. Compton received her B.A. from the University of Florida and her J.D., with honors, from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University.
