TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Timothy C. Garding, associate in the Tampa office, will receive Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2010 Up & Comers Award.  Mr. Garding was selected in the 30 to 39 category.  The 2010 Up & Comers Awards Dinner, which celebrates the accomplishments of rising professionals throughout the Bay area, will take place on November 4, 2010 at the Renaissance Hotel in Tampa.

Mr. Garding practices in the areas of healthcare, employment & labor, and administrative/government law.  While in law school, he received the Outstanding Articles and Notes Editor award for his work on Volume 23:2 of The Florida State University College of Law’s Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law.  Mr. Garding also served as a Teaching Fellow for the legal research and writing department at Stetson University College of Law and worked as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Administrative Law Judge Larry Sartin at the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings in Tallahassee, Florida.  He currently serves on the Events Committee of the Gasparilla International Film Festival and the Festival Liaison Committee of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. I n addition, Mr. Garding co-chairs the Backstage group at Stageworks Theatre and is a member of the Development Council of the Spring of Tampa Bay.

Mr. Garding received his J.D., cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and his B.A. from University of Minnesota – Duluth.
