Steven M. Berman Elected to Board of California Bankruptcy Forum

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Steven M. Berman, partner in the Tampa office, has been elected to serve a three year term on the Board of Directors of the California Bankruptcy Forum. The California Bankruptcy Forum’s primary purposes are to provide educational support, a structure for communication between the bench and bar and networking between the members, thereby providing better service to the public.

In addition to being elected to the Board, Mr. Berman served as Panel producer for the 2011 Annual Insolvency Conference May 20-21, 2011 where the California Bankruptcy Forum presented Intellectual Property Rights in Bankruptcy.

Mr. Berman has over 20 years of experience and has focused his practice as a business bankruptcy litigator representing creditors, trustees, committees and business entities litigating disputes in bankruptcy court. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Certification in both Creditors' Rights Law and Business Bankruptcy Law, is a member of both the Florida and California Bars and is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, all California state courts, all federal courts in the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the federal courts in the Southern and Central Districts of California and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Berman currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum.

Mr. Berman received his J.D. from University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.S. in Multinational Business Operations from Florida State University.
