TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce Malinda R. Lugo, associate in the Tampa office, presented at the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Health Law Section’s CLE program on April 11, 2012 at the Chester E. Ferguson Law Center in Tampa. Ms. Lugo discussed “Electronic Health Records: Contracting, Compliance and Liability Hazards.”

Ms. Lugo also presented to the USF College of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine residents and fellows on “How to Avoid Malpractice Suits” at Tampa General Hospital on March 21, 2012.

Ms. Lugo practices in the firm’s health law and litigation departments. Her practice includes representing health care providers on issues related to state and federal health care matters including regulatory and licensure matters, electronic health records, HIPAA compliance and breach notifications, negotiation of contracts, and other general business litigation. Ms. Lugo received her J.D., cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and her B.S. in Criminology from Florida State University.
