Douglas A. Cherry to Speak at Annual Florida Bar Convention

SARASOTA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Douglas A. Cherry, partner in the Sarasota office, is Chair of the 2013 The Florida Bar Annual Convention’s full-day seminar titled “New E-Discovery Amendments to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure” on June 28, 2013 in Boca Raton.  The seminar has been selected as part of the President’s Showcase. During the seminar, Doug will provide the day’s first presentation, giving an overview and analysis of the E-Discovery Amendments along with practical tips and strategies. The remainder of the seminar will include a mock hearing and panels consisting of judges, attorneys and technical experts.

Doug is Board Certified in Intellectual Property Law.  Doug’s practice focuses on intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition) consulting, acquisition, licensing and litigation.  He also focuses on computer and technology law, business law and entertainment law, including consulting clients and attorneys in electronic discovery issues, domain name disputes, E-commerce agreements, technology implementation transactions and software performance disputes, consulting and employment agreements, and technology licensing.  Doug chairs the eDiscovery Committee of The Florida Bar Business Law Section and was involved in the drafting of the eDiscovery Amendments to the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
