The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Thomas G. Pletz, partner in the Toledo office, gave a presentation at Lourdes University on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 on the subject of "Church-State Relations in Public and Non-Public Schools."  Tom spoke to the students in its Masters Program in Educational Leadership.

Tom explained the significant Ohio and U.S. Supreme Court decisions which distinguish the different degrees of legitimate governmental control over public and private schools.

Tom focuses his practice in the area of civil litigation including complex product liability cases, special remedies, religious dioceses, parishes and educational entities in all areas and electronic media and libel law.  He has extensive experience in electronic media, defamation and public records matters.

Tom received his J.D. from the University of Toledo and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
