TOLEDO, OH - Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Thomas G. Pletz, partner in the Toledo office, spoke with the students in the Masters Program in Educational Leadership at Lourdes University on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 on the subject of "Church-State Relations in Public and Non-Public Schools."  Tom explained the difference among the various sources of American education law, and the significant Ohio and U.S. Supreme Court decisions distinguishing the differing degrees of legitimate governmental control over public and private schools.

Tom has focused his practice in the area of civil litigation including complex product liability cases, special remedies, and religious organizations, parishes and educational entities in all areas.  He has extensive experience in electronic media, libel, defamation and public records matters.

Tom received his J.D. from the University of Toledo and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
