Shumaker Attorneys Present to Manatee County Bar Association

SARASOTA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Sarasota partner Douglas A. Cherry, presented a seminar on “Avoiding the Pitfalls of the Digital Era of Law: E-discovery, preservation and other technological issues” to the Manatee Bar on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.  Tampa partner Seth Traub was a panelist at the seminar.  The program provided information regarding e-discovery, best practices, developing technology, attorneys’ obligations in regard to technology, and what the rules of procedure and professional conduct require.

Doug is Board Certified in Intellectual Property Law.  Doug’s practice focuses on intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition) consulting, acquisition, licensing and litigation.  He also focuses on computer and technology law, business law and entertainment law, including consulting clients and attorneys in electronic discovery issues, domain name disputes, E-commerce agreements, technology implementation transactions and software performance disputes, consulting and employment agreements, and technology licensing.  

Seth is a member of the Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights and Litigation practice groups.  His principal areas of practice include business litigation and appellate representation, with a focus on creditors, trustees, and business entities litigating disputes in bankruptcy court as well as corporate and individual clients in general business, commercial landlord/tenant, and surety and construction disputes.
