TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Joseph A. Rideout, partner in the Toledo office, was a recipient of the Diocese of Toledo's Centenary Award for Outstanding Service for his service to St. John's Jesuit High School. The award was presented during the solemn vespers service on June 12, 2011 at Toledo Rosary Cathedral. The Centenary Award is presented to individuals for their outstanding service to a single parish or institution.

Mr. Rideout is a partner in and the administrator of the real estate practice group in the Toledo, Ohio office. His principal areas of practice are real estate finance and development, construction law, land use planning and business law.

Mr. Rideout has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® and was also named the Best Lawyers 2009 Toledo Real Estate Lawyer of the Year.

Mr. Rideout is a board member of many charitable and civic organizations, including the Lucas County Improvement Corporation; Toledo-Lucas County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc.; Toledo Cultural Arts Center, Inc./Valentine Theatre; and International Samaritan, f/k/a Central American Ministries. Mr. Rideout is also a board member and the immediate past chairman of the board of trustees of St. John's Jesuit High School of Toledo, Ohio; and a board member and the immediate past chairman of the board of trustees of the St. John's Jesuit High School Foundation.

Mr. Rideout received his J.D. from the University of Virginia and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College.
