COLUMBUS, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Jamie Colner, partner in the Columbus office, will be presenting at the Ohio Chapter of The American Board of Trial Advocates “Masters in Trial” demonstration.  The program will take place on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.  It is a mock trial with a live jury.  The case involves a young man who suffered serious leg and foot injuries when he slipped on stairs while leaving a party at a friend’s apartment. Safety engineers disagree about the design of the stairway. The plaintiff and his host disagree on critical facts related to alternative causes for the fall.

Educating lawyers in the art of trial advocacy is a primary goal of the Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”). The Masters in Trial shows how some of the most successful trial lawyers in the country conduct a trial – without war stories. All of the trial team counsel are ABOTA members and are well-known and highly respected in their fields. The mock trial demonstration is presented before the Honorable John Collier, Judge Henry, Franklin County Court of Common Pleas and a real jury, complete with witnesses, experts and electronic courtroom visuals. The jury will render a verdict with jury deliberations shown on-screen in the Courtroom.
