TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Mindi Richter, partner in the Tampa office, and Jeffrey B. Fabian, associate in the Tampa office, have been appointed Co-Chairs of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.

Mindi is certified as an Intellectual Property Law Specialist by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.  She has counseled clients in the areas of trademark selection, registration and protection, as well as trade secrets, copyright, patent, and internet matters. Mindi has experience in litigating intellectual property matters of all types, both in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as in state and federal courts across the country. Guiding clients in negotiating, developing and drafting licenses, assignments and other intellectual property contracts is another area of her experience.  Mindi received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University.

Jeff Fabian focuses his practice on intellectual property law, including litigation, procurement, and counseling, as well as other areas of complex commercial litigation. Jeff is a registered patent attorney, and his practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.  Jeff received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.  He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and his B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.
