TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Mary Ellen Pisanelli, partner in the Toledo office, has been appointed to the University of Toledo Board of Trustees by Gov. John Kasich.  Mary Ellen's term will commence in August 2015 and she will serve until July 2023. 

Mary Ellen's principal areas of practice include corporate finance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and SEC disclosure. She joined Shumaker in 1982 and has been a partner since 1990.  Mary Ellen has served as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee, been the relationship Partner for Health Care REIT, Inc. since 1991 and serves as a Co-Chair of the Firm’s REIT practice group.

Mary Ellen is active in a number of organizations and serves on numerous Boards.  She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Toledo Zoo, served as the Zoo Board’s President for two terms and is a member of several Zoo Board committees.  She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Toledo Museum of Art.

Mary Ellen received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law, her M.A. from the University of Chicago, and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Vermont.
