Cherry and Malone Present to Sarasota Bar Association

SARASOTA, FL – Douglas A. Cherry and Jarrod J. Malone, partners in the Sarasota office, co-presented a CLE course to the Sarasota County Bar Association, Business Law Section entitled “Your Client Had a Data Breach, Now What? Advice on Mitigating the Consequences and Protecting the Brand,” September 22, 2016 at Michael’s on East in Sarasota, Florida.

Doug is Board Certified in Intellectual Property Law.  Doug’s practice focuses on intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition) consulting, acquisition, licensing and litigation.  He also focuses on computer and technology law, business law and entertainment law, including consulting clients and attorneys in electronic discovery issues, domain name disputes, E-commerce agreements, technology implementation transactions and software performance disputes, E-mail privacy, data breach, identity theft, consulting and employment agreements, and technology licensing.

Jarrod Malone has significant litigation experience, has gained substantial knowledge in electronic discovery and has assisted several corporations in data breach incidents.  As a result, he is one of the primary attorneys on the firm’s Data Breach Team that assists in identification and containment of potential breaches, legal risk assessment and strategic risk mitigation advice. After a data breach has occurred and its scope ascertained, Jarrod assists the client in formulating a breach response plan, including coordination of any required notifications to State Agencies and Law Enforcement, affected individuals and credit agencies.
