CHARLOTTE, NC – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce Charlotte associate Steven Bimbo’s appointment to the Charlotte Business Inclusion Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee was established by the Charlotte City Council on January 9, 2017, to support, evaluate, and provide input on the policies and procedures of the Charlotte Business Inclusion Program (CBI). The Advisory Committee's responsibilities include: Reviewing Minority, Women, Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) utilization and participation on City contracts; providing recommendations and advice to City Council on ways the City can enhance diversity and inclusion of MWSBEs in City contracting and procurement; providing a forum for CBI stakeholders to raise issues and have input into CBI policy recommendations; advising the City of business community conditions that may affect business-government relations; and, serving on future City Disparity Study Advisory Committees.
Steven’s practice focuses on representing general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, owners, developers, and sureties at every stage of a construction project, including pre-construction evaluation, licensing, preparation of contract documents, bid preparation, bid mistakes, bid protests, change order negotiations and disputes, project correspondence, claim preparation, defense of claims, project close-out, and all forms of dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
