TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Tampa partner Dave Slenn and Tampa associate Tyler H. Gordon spoke to the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals about the use and abuse of captive insurance on March 21, 2017.

Dave concentrates his practice in tax, estate and business planning with an emphasis on risk mitigation.   Dave is the current Chair for the Captive Insurance Committee in the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA) and a past Chair for the Asset Protection Planning Committee in the Section of Real Property Trusts and Estate Law of the American Bar Association (ABA.)  Additionally, he was an ABA Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Drafting Committee for the Uniform Voidable Transactions Act (formerly the “Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act.”). 

Tyler represents clients in the areas of corporate business law and transactions with concentrations in finance and banking, mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, and corporate governance.  Tyler received his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and his B.A. from Emory University.
