Steele B. ("Al") Windle, III Joins Construction Society of America

CHARLOTTE, NC –– Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Charlotte  partner Steele B. (“Al”) Windle, III has accepted the invitation to become a fellow in the Fellowship of the Construction Lawyers Society of America ("CLSA"). CLSA is an invitation-only construction honorary society with membership limited to 1,200 practicing fellows from the United States and internationally. CLSA promotes superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law as well as assists in community involvement by its membership, among many others.

Al’s principal area of practice is construction law. He has represented owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties and insurance carriers at every stage of a construction project, including licensing, preparation of contract documents, bid preparation, bid mistakes, bid protests, change order negotiations, project correspondence, claim preparation, defense of claims, defaults, termination, project close-out and final dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.

Al has extensive experience prosecuting and defending extra work, delay, acceleration, cumulative impact, inefficiency and differing site conditions claims on private and public projects.

Al received his J.D. from Wake Forest University and his B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
