Meghan Serrano Receives Board Certification in Business Litigation

SARASOTA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Meghan O. Serrano, partner in the Sarasota office, has been certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education. There are only 254 attorneys in the state who have earned this certification. Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar, recognizing attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice.

Meghan focuses her practice on all phases of civil and business litigation, including appeals. Meghan’s practice centers on real property litigation, and she has extensive experience representing lenders in title claims, foreclosures, deficiencies, workouts and REO matters; representing landlords regarding lease issues, tenant disputes and eviction actions; and representing investors with respect to acquisitions of defaulted loans and loan portfolios. Prior to joining the firm, Meghan served as an assistant district attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, where she successfully argued a number of appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court which are summarized in published decisions.

Meghan received her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her B.A. from Boston College.
