Todd Timmerman Elected To Chair 2018-19 Outback Bowl

Tampa, FL -- The Outback Bowl has announced Todd Timmerman, Partner, Intellectual Property Practice, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP has been elected to the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the popular New Year’s Day college bowl game located in Tampa.  Timmerman has been a long-time volunteer with the Outback Bowl and on the Board of Directors since 2010, including as a former chair of the bowls Team Selection Committee.

“The Outback Bowl has contributed over 140 million dollars to education and resulted in a billion dollars in economic impact to the Tampa Bay region.  It is truly a local treasure,” said Timmerman.  “I look forward to serving the Bowl as its Chair for the 2018-19 season, and to another exciting game this coming New Year’s Day.”

Additional officers elected by the board for the 2018-19 bowl include: Tim Love, CEO of Alltrust Insurance, as Vice Chair; Rita Lowman, President of Pilot Bank, Vice Chair of Pinellas County; R. Troy Atlas, Financial Services Executive, as Vice Chair of Hillsborough County; Greg Orchard, former CFO of Visit Tampa Bay, as Treasurer; and, Chris Roederer, Senior Vice President - Human Resources, Tampa General Hospital, as Secretary.

The Outback Bowl, featuring teams from the Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference, is played in Raymond James Stadium and will celebrate its 33rd game on January 1, 2019.  Over its history it has brought more than a million out of market visitors to the region while creating an estimated $1 billion in economic impact and distributing $143 million to universities.  It has also contributed $500,000 to local charities since 2016.  For information on the bowl go to www.OutbackBowl.com or call 813-874-BOWL.
