Calvin serves as Director of Operations for the firm's Southeast offices, where he directs multiple shared services with a focus on efficiency, accountability, and people-centered leadership. With an educational foundation in public administration, human resources, and public policy, he brings a thoughtful, strategic perspective to supporting attorneys, staff, and clients across a multi-office platform.
Before joining Shumaker, Calvin built a broad operational background in outsourced corporate facilities and operations management throughout the New York City metropolitan area. His experience includes work with national television networks, investment banks, Big Four professional services firms, advertising and media agencies, and large law firms. These roles strengthened his ability to lead in fast-paced environments, manage complex vendor relationships, support human capital operations, and align day-to-day operations with broader organizational goals. A pillar of Shumaker's Tampa office since 2010, Calvin is known for strengthening infrastructure, improving service delivery, and ensuring that operational systems reliably support the firm's initiatives.
Beyond the firm, Calvin is actively engaged in civic leadership and community service. He serves as a Community Relations Advisory Board Member to the Polk County Board of County Commissioners in Bartow, Florida, offering insight at the intersection of public service, equity, and organizational leadership. He is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the NAACP, reflecting his long-standing commitment to workforce development, inclusion, and community advocacy.
Calvin devotes his time to family and his church. Originally from the island of Jamaica, he enjoys returning to his roots and embracing the Caribbean lifestyle, which helps keep him grounded and connected to his cultural heritage. Whether mentoring emerging professionals or supporting community initiatives, Calvin brings the same sense of purpose, warmth, and balance to life that define his professional approach.
