Daniel leverages deep knowledge and expertise in mechanical engineering to help clients secure and protect their valuable patents. A registered Patent Agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), he works on innovations across a range of industries, with a particular focus on mechanical and electromechanical technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning applications, autonomous systems, and software.
While pursuing his graduate studies, Daniel worked on a variety of research projects spanning multiple disciplines, including:
- Control systems for microgrids
- AI-enabled control systems for semi-autonomous driving systems
- Structural analysis of electronic assemblies and modular nuclear reactors
In addition, Daniel has hands-on experience in machine shops and was an instructor of record in an electrical engineering/instrumentation lab. His educational, research, and practical experience all inform his current practice and enhance the counsel he provides to clients looking to secure patents for complex technological innovations.
Daniel was drawn to intellectual property law because it combines two areas that he enjoys: solving complex technical problems and helping innovators bring new ideas to market. He believes that patent law offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, innovation, and business while supporting development and protection of emerging technologies, which he finds extremely rewarding.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys cooking and playing disc golf.
