SARASOTA, FL — Shumaker Partner Patrick J. Duggan has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Child Protection Center (CPC), an organization dedicated to the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. CPC provides specialized services designed to prevent child abuse, intervene when abuse occurs, and support the treatment and healing of survivors and families.

Patrick has long been dedicated to efforts focused on preventing abuse and protecting vulnerable members of the community. He just concluded 10 years of service on the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center's (SPARCC) Board of Directors–the last two of which he served as its Board Chair. Through his leadership and community involvement, Patrick has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to creating safer communities and supporting individuals and families affected by abuse.

A leader in both the community and his legal practice, Patrick also serves as a Public Sector Industry Sector Co-Chair at Shumaker. As a member of the firm's Labor & Employment Service Line, he focuses on employment law and litigation, primarily representing management in complex workplace, public sector, and business disputes.
Patrick represents clients in matters before both state and federal courts and brings extensive experience navigating complex employment and litigation matters. His legal practice, combined with his commitment to community leadership, allows him to bring a broad perspective to his service on CPC's Board.
