WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of its continued strategic expansion and deepening commitment to federal advocacy, Shumaker Advisors welcomes Mike Fedorchak as Vice President of Federal Affairs. Based in Washington, D.C., Mike brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in government relations, public policy, business, and grassroots advocacy to the firm's growing federal team.
"With Mike's arrival, we are building on a foundation of strong client service and impactful advocacy," said Ryan Walker, Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs at Shumaker Advisors. "His distinguished career of government affairs, business, and campaign experience strengthens our ability to navigate Washington's complex policy landscape and deliver real results for our clients."
In his new role, Mike works closely with lawmakers, regulatory agencies, and coalition partners to advance client priorities in Congress and the Administration. Known for his ability to translate complex policy issues into strategic action, he leverages strong relationships with key members of Congress and committee staff to align client objectives with public policy outcomes.
"Shumaker Advisors has built a strong reputation in Washington for delivering meaningful results, and I'm proud to be part of a firm that shares my commitment to principled advocacy, strategic problem-solving, and advancing policies that make a real difference for clients and communities alike," said Mike.
The addition of Mike reflects the continued momentum of the Shumaker Advisors federal team, which earlier this year established a new office just steps from the U.S. Capitol. This investment further solidifies the firm's longstanding presence in Washington, D.C., where it has served clients at the federal level since 2018. Shumaker Advisors was recently recognized as one of Washington's "Top-Performing Lobbying Firms" by Bloomberg Government.
Prior to joining Shumaker Advisors, Mike built a respected career as a public affairs consultant in Washington, D.C., where he advised clients on federal engagement, issue advocacy, and policy development. He recently played a senior advisory role in Julie Fedorchak's campaign for U.S. Congress in North Dakota, leading fundraising strategy, communications, and debate preparation.
Previously, Mike served as State Director for Americans for Prosperity in North Dakota, where he led grassroots campaigns and secured significant policy victories, including the passage of HB 1425, which reinvested $1.6 billion into the state's economy. Earlier in his career, he spent 19 years with Pfizer, earning national recognition for sales leadership and successfully launching some of the company's most prominent pharmaceutical products.
Mike's background as a small business owner also brings a valuable perspective to his federal work. He understands firsthand the regulatory and economic challenges that entrepreneurs face and uses that insight to shape practical, business-focused policy strategies. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mike served honorably as an Electronic Technician aboard the USS Wabash during Desert Storm.
