Shumaker's Columbus office hosted a CLE Seminar concerning "Bitcoin and Beyond: Legal Issues in the Distributed Economy" for the Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (CO-ACC). The event was held at The Country Club at Muirfield Village during the Memorial Tournament.
Doug was a member of a panel that discussed growth-related legal issues including the patentability of blockchain applications and how government officials are policing initial coin offering's (ICOs) and cryptocurrency trading for signs of fraud and tax evasion.
