Amanda Newlon, associate in the Health Care practice group in the Tampa office, presented a CLE to the Florida Bar on Tuesday, July 14th entitled "Pandemics and Health Law." Amanda's talk provides a look at the historical/legal background of our pandemic health laws in Florida. She discusses special considerations of the Coronavirus pandemic (which is not like previous pandemics) and particular concerns for health care providers (e.g., reporting requirements, HIPAA considerations, licensing, infection control, and medical malpractice). She also address potential lasting impacts, such as future litigation.
