Tampa attorney Andrew Ballentine presented "Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, Part 5 - Filing, 341 Hearing and Discharge," on June 27th for the Community Legal Services Pro Bono Academy. Andrew discussed issues that occur after the filing of a chapter 7 bankruptcy case. Specifically, he covered what to expect and what is expected of you and your client for the Meeting of Creditors under 11 U.S.C. § 341. Andrew also touched on the what, how, why, and who of the Automatic Stay under 11 U.S.C. § 362 and how to handle violations. Providing examples and situations from actual cases, Andrew also discussed different types of resolutions with a chapter 7 trustee and creditors, and the Discharge Order issued under 11 U.S.C. § 727.
