TAMPA, Fla. – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices in Sarasota and Tampa, Fla., welcomed seasoned intellectual property (IP) attorney Suzette Marteny to its strong lineup of IP and patent attorneys in the Tampa office.

Marteny, joining the firm as partner, brings more than 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, and is a registered patent attorney who understands the nuts-and-bolts of patent prosecution and is licensed to represent clients in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. 

Marteny’s specialties include assisting companies and individuals in obtaining, leveraging and litigating patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Her extensive experience assisting clients in acquiring, asserting and leveraging intellectual property assets in a variety of industries complements the solid IP team already in place at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick. Led by Managing Partner Todd Timmerman, the law firm’s IP team in Tampa and Sarasota consists of four patent lawyers and five litigators with more than 125 years of combined experience in the field.

Marteny received her law degree from Stetson University College of Law and her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida.
